    Dr. Maria Chiara Formica is a qualified Physiotherapist who completed her studies at the “University of Rome Tor Vergata” in 2016 where she took part in a research about the “Evaluation of the psychometric properties of the Barthel Index in an Italian ischemic stroke population in the acute phase: a cross-sectional study ” by Galeoto, Giovanni, PhD; Formica, Maria Chiara, BScPT; Mercuri, Nicola Biagio, MD; Santilli, Valter, MD; Berardi, Anna, MD; et al.Functional Neurology; Roma Vol. 34, Iss. 1, (Jan-Mar 2019): 29-34.

    She has attended multiple trainings and courses such as Mobilisation of the Neural System , MSK Trigger Points treatment – Ticchi Method, Taping and Functional Bandages ,HydroTherapy for the Developmental Age, Clinic Lymphatic drainage,Clinical and Postural approach – Tre Squadre, Souchard and Mezieres method, RoSPA Level 4 Award in Advanced Manual Handling Training for Single Handed Care-A1 Risk Solution, Osteopathic Approach to the TMJ & Headaches and Understanding Red Flags and Serious Spinal Pathology.

    She has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including private and rehab ones, treating individuals or groups of all ages and situations with different ranges of conditions both in the Uk and in Italy.

    In the UK she has also expanded her experience working in Community, Social and Emergency settings and she specialised In the assessment and management of conditions affecting Balance such as Parkinson’s Disease, cerebellar desease, multiple sclerosis ,peripheral neuropathies, dementia, vestibular issues, migraines, headaches, vertigo, joint/muscles/vision and postural related problems.

    She has worked at the “San Raffaele of Monte Compatri ” treating patients with various cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, helping them rebuilding their strength and decreasing fatigue levels within the goal to gain back or keep their independence as much as possible, including patients who have undergone cardiovascular interventions.
