    Physiotherapist

Dr. Valentina Buscemi is a Chartered Physiotherapist and Lecturer, with an expertise in Pain Management and rehabilitation of complex chronic pain conditions. She has more than 15 years of experience and she offers Pain Management for any type of persistent/chronic pain including musculoskeletal pain, fibromyalgia, generalised pain, headache, neuropathic pain and visceral pain and all those pain conditions that are refractory to more traditional physiotherapy interventions.

Through a coaching approach, she offers an innovative, personalised and integrated Body-Mind Pain

Management service, where she teaches effective tools to ease pain symptoms, regain physical functioning and improve patients’ overall quality of life. Alongside more traditional Pain Management techniques, she uses a cognitive-behavioural framework as a model of reference, commonly used in the UK for treating/manage chronic pain (called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or ACT) as well as other emerging theoretical models and practical techniques applied to the pain experience, including Polyvagal Theory, self-regulation techniques, breath work, mindfulness to name a few.

The style of the Pain Management sessions are mostly experiential, through a mixture of bodywork, physical, cognitive and behavioural exercises tailored to the patients’ needs and goals.

If you feel that pain has taken over your life and that your quality of life is slowly reducing because of pain, or if you feel on edge or irritable due to pain, this Pain Management service could be the right approach for you.
