    Internal Medicine & Acute Medicine Physician

    Dr. Flaminia Bruno is an expert and compassionate physician, specializing in Internal Medicine and Acute Medicine. Her special interests include lifestyle medicine, functional medicine, the early diagnosis of potentially serious diseases (including cancer), medical education, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), and international cooperation.

    Dr. Bruno studied at La Sapienza University in Italy, where she graduated with Honours in 2000 and specialized in Internal Medicine with Honours in 2005. She has worked in prestigious teaching hospitals, including St. George’s Hospital, King’s College Hospital, and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital. Alongside her intense clinical practice, she has collaborated on and produced high-level research in oncological diagnosis.

    Currently, Dr. Bruno works as an Acute Internal Medicine Consultant at Croydon Univeristy Hospital . She is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer for the Faculty of Science and Medicine at King’s College London (KCL) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She holds a PGCert in Medical Education from King’s College University London and is passionate about training the next generation of doctors and nurses. Her dedication to teaching has earned her several award nominations.

    Dr. Bruno has a strong interest in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS). She completed the FUSIC (Focused Ultrasound in Intensive Care) course and continues to work with FAMUS (Focused Acute Medicine Ultrasound) within the Society of Internal Medicine. In 2020–2021, she set up the POCUS service within the Department of Acute Medicine at King’s College Hospital.

    In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Bruno is deeply interested in Lifestyle Medicine, Functional Medicine, and Nutritional Therapy. She is CHIP (Complete Health Improvement Program) certified and is currently training with the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM). She is also a Certified Yoga Teacher, using her skills to maintain her own mind-body wellbeing and to support friends, family, and colleagues.

    Dr. Bruno has a genuine passion for international cooperation. In Italy, she founded a charity called MINGHA AFRICA ONLUS. Between 2003 and 2005, she worked in Cameroon, leading a team of volunteer trainee doctors in collaboration with La Sapienza University, the Italian National Institute of Public Health (ISS), and the financial support of the Conferenza Episcopale of Rome.

    Dr. Bruno is known for her special touch in dealing with patients, blending exceptional professionalism with a profound dedication to the whole person’s wellbeing. Her clinical background and personal attitude ensure that her approach is truly holistic and of the highest standards.
