Dr Teresa Castiello is a world-class Consultant Cardiologist based on Harley Street, London, with over 25 years of international clinical, research and leadership experience across Europe, the UK and global humanitarian settings.
Known for combining cutting-edge diagnostic technology with a deeply empathetic, personal approach, she specialises in heart failure, inherited and acquired cardiomyopathies, preventive cardiology, sudden cardiac death and advanced cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR). Her approach is deliberately holistic: the person comes before the pathology, with her patients’ physical and mental wellbeing and individual circumstances weighed alongside the clinical picture.
Clinical excellence & precision diagnostics
Dr Castiello graduated with Honours in Medicine and Surgery from La Sapienza University, Rome, in 2001, and completed her cardiology specialisation at Campus Bio-Medico University, Rome, in 2009.
Her clinical journey spans over a decade in the NHS, where she established and led the heart failure and inherited cardiac conditions services at Croydon University Hospital, alongside her role as specialist Cardiac MRI Consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital / King’s College London — one of the world’s largest CMR centres. She holds ESC/SCMR Level 3 accreditation in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance imaging, reporting hundreds of complex CMR studies each year to prevent sudden cardiac death and tailor precision therapies.
Today she practises full-time in London’s premier medical district, leading cardiology and CMR services at Maris Medical on Harley Street, alongside her clinical network.

Healthcare as a universal right
Dr Castiello’s dedication to medicine was forged on the front lines of global health. Between 2009 and 2011 she led humanitarian cardiac missions in Sudan (Salam Centre for Cardiac Surgery, Khartoum), Kenya and East Jerusalem, delivering life-saving screening and cardiac care.
