Dr Wafik is a Consultant Clinical Geneticist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, specialising in the diagnosis and management of inherited cardiovascular conditions, rare diseases and paediatric genetic disorders. He combines detailed clinical evaluation with a deep background in laboratory genomics to interpret complex genetic data, using the latest Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) to deliver accurate diagnoses that form the foundation of truly personalised management plans for adults and children.
He leads clinical content development for QGenome, a digital platform designed to streamline genomic decision-making and improve patient access to genetic services. His credentials include a CCT in Clinical Genetics (UK), accreditation by the Royal College of Pathologists (DipRCPath) and the European Board of Medical Genetics (ECMGG), a medical degree with distinction from Ain Shams University, an MSc in Medical Genetics and Genomics with distinction from the University of Glasgow, and a postgraduate certificate in the Clinical Application of Genomic Data from St George's, University of London.
